My own projects ....extremely long term
As you might expect, getting around to my own projects becomes a never ending story. But, now that I am just in my sixties, I had better re evaluate the order of things!
You can never have too many projects as far as keeping your wishes and dreams active, but here is a bit of structure to the coming years...Bucket list items to at least move forward are this old Wisconsin Marine Special and 1946 Auster J1N G-AGXU.
The Marine Special is a 1918 Model T Ford based Outlaw racer. We have most things to complete except for a gearbox. The engine is Model A. I do have the rear axle and wheels but they are still tucked away in the Barn ...we've just wheel barrowed this part out for some inspiration. Makes a good garden ornament!
The Auster is partially restored, but still much airframe work to do. She remains in the garden hanger (long shed) but we will have a sort out before winter ready for some more work. Because of this I have presented an online photo for you to see this aeroplane in her heyday and a view from a year or so ago from my kitchen window, "X-ray Uniform" basking in the sunshine.
Late Summer Workshop (more to come) Please click here to open fully
It has been a busy late summer with some attempt at catching up after Lockdowns. Parts and materials continue to be an issue and easily underestimated. Most of the work has been dominated by Wolseley but there is some Land Rover, Champion and Jaguar work as well as many little jobs for assisted projects and just old fashioned engineering services.
More to follow as we upload photos to the blog.
Some photos may seem a little ordinary but this blog also gives the owners a visual explanation to back up their very extensive workshop reports bi weekly and monthly.
Wolseley Hornet Special:
1946 Studebaker Champion Engine, we will see much more of this in progress this coming spring.
Some photos from last year 2024 and a little of 2023.
